Mark McGowan, WA Labor leader, has finally broken his silence about what he would do about the astonishing heritage on Murujuga, or Burrup Peninsula, in the Pilbara region.

Below is his statement, given when he was asked today if he would support Barnett’s move:

“I support that. I support that, it is a beautiful area and I support World Heritage listing. All I would say is Mr Barnett’s had eight and a half years to achieve it and now he talks about it. Now, in my view, it’s an important issue, something we’d progress.”
Let us make sure that, should his party be successful on the 11 March, he does not forget what he said.
