Today we share a video made by Weerianna Street Media in partnership with Murujuga Rangers of Murujuga National Park. The initiative by this Indigenous Cross Media company, which operates out of Roebourne, WA, is part of the Digital Dreamtime Project (DDP) and aims at informing visitors about how to behave on Country and what to do to contribute to rock art protection. Their values are summarised as RESPECT, which stands for Rock art, Environment, Sea Country, People, Earth, Culture, Truth.
It is important that all visitors understand the local requirements and adhere to protocol. This is why, at Friends of Australian Rock Art, we are also providing a Cultural Induction as part of our annual tour of Murujuga/Burrup Peninsula.
Warning: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders should use caution viewing this video, as it may contain images or voices of dead persons.
