The release of the findings of the Senate Committee inquiry into protection of Aboriginal Rock Art of the Burrup Peninsula has been deferred yet again.

As you may know, a Senate Inquiry was called early in 2017 to investigate the claim that industrial emissions on the Burrup peninsula were causing irreparable harm to the fragile petroglyphs. So much information was heard and gathered that the much awaited report has again been postponed till February 2018.

For further information on this important inquiry into the effect of industrial emissions on the globally significant rock art of Murujuga/Burrup Peninsula please see the Senate Committee website.
